Mr. Sanchai Noombunnam, Country General Manager of Informa Markets Thailand, said the Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Bangkok (JGAB) 2026 has been continuously developed to elevate it as a key gem and jewellery trade platform in the ASEAN region under the concept The Ultimate Sourcing Hub, aiming to support small and medium Thai entrepreneurs in expanding their reach to international markets.
As the organiser, Informa Markets Thailand is very pleased to expand its collaboration framework with key partners in the gem and jewellery industry, hoping this cooperation will build confidence in the Thai gem and jewellery sector and support the long-term growth of Thailand's gem industry.
A key highlight this year is the upgrade of the exhibition space into an international business negotiation stage featuring pavilions from various countries, such as the ASEAN Pavilion, gathering producers from ASEAN nations, and the China Pavilion, known for jewellery packaging and synthetic diamonds.
The Sri Lanka Pavilion showcases world-class sapphires under the concept Mine to Masterpiece, while the Japan Pavilion displays fine jewellery, pearls, and high-quality accessories meeting Made in Japan standards. This year, over 400 companies from more than 15 countries are expected to exhibit, with over 10,000 visitors, including businesspeople from 60 countries attending.
Moreover, the event offers numerous activities, including The Next Gem Awards 2026 for emerging designers, The Goldsmith Craftsmanship Competition 2026 for Thai goldsmiths, the JGAB Runway jewellery fashion show emphasising value creation for Thai jewellery, Networking Night for business networking promotion, as well as workshops and quality seminars throughout the four-day event focusing on ASEAN cooperation and the global market.
Mr. Suttipong Damrongsakul, President of the ASEAN Gem and Jewellery Trade Association, highlighted the importance of upgrading collaboration into a partnership for this event, stating this is the association's first time elevating cooperation to become a co-organiser of JGAB 2026. He sees great potential and opportunities emerging from the event.
The work is carried out under a comprehensive cooperation framework, which is beneficial to the overall industry, such as acting as an intermediary connecting buyers and entrepreneurs within their member networks, especially from ASEAN, Asia, and Middle Eastern countries, to participate in the event as exhibitors and visitors.
Additionally, the event hosts the Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Summit, gathering experts and leading entrepreneurs in the jewellery industry internationally, particularly from AGJA member countries, aiming to seek cooperation in trade, knowledge exchange, and other areas between communities, emphasising the importance of regional trade partnership collaboration for industry sustainability.
To prepare for future global market challenges, this cooperation is believed to be a crucial step in elevating collaboration between the Thai and ASEAN gem and jewellery industries and global gem and jewellery business communities, positioning JGAB 2026 and Thailand as a central hub for the Thai gem and jewellery industry and the future of the Thai silver jewellery market on the global stage.
Mr. Sidthisak Limvatanayingyong, Vice Chairman of Gem and Jewelry Industry Club, The Federation of Thai Industries, and President of Thai Silver Exporters Association, added that the gem and jewellery industry is a vital sector driving Thailand's overall economic growth, with export value reaching 26.821 billion USD (January–December 2025), ranking as Thailand’s third most important export product.
Particularly, silver jewellery exports amounted to 2.522 billion USD, growing by 31.56%. Thailand's strengths lie in skilled craftsmanship with fine detail, unique designs, internationally recognised production standards, and readiness in industrial infrastructure, as well as a comprehensive entrepreneur network covering the entire supply chain—from raw material sourcing, gem cutting, jewellery production, to product development and export to international markets.
Regarding the role of the Federation of Thai Industries, both public and private sectors need to collaborate to meet new global economic challenges, especially amid ongoing global economic uncertainty. Those impacted include not only large enterprises but also small operators and SMEs, which are crucial to the economic system.
To assist and support these entrepreneurs in competing effectively, the Gem and Jewellery Industry Group of the Federation of Thai Industries collaborates with Informa Markets to support small exhibitors through a subsidy program called SME Pang Tang Dai Kuen.
This program has attracted strong interest, with over 100 participants joining, an increase of more than 25% from last year, aiming to help push small and medium enterprises into the global market.
Moreover, the Thai Silver Jewellery Exporters Association has organised a seminar titled Silver Price Shock: Understanding the Market and Designing for the Future to share knowledge within the silver industry. The exhibition zone themed Beyond Silver Price: The Future of Thai Jewellery Industry showcases the potential of the Thai silver industry through diverse stories and design concepts.
JGAB 2026 will be held from 22 to 25 April 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. It is an international gem and jewellery trade platform gathering entrepreneurs, buyers, designers, and experts worldwide to create business opportunities and expand trade networks on a global scale.
